Pasquale Cicalese is unique in the contemporary publishing world. His wisdom is based on two essential pillars: study and empirical experience. In terms of study, he has accumulated a vast wealth of knowledge throughout his life, ranging from economics to philosophy, politics to sociology. As for experience, it goes without saying that everyday life offers every thinking individual a wealth of stimuli. Cicalese has been able to gather and organize in a rigorous and methodical way what can be summarized as his personal experience. This fusion of theory and practice has allowed him to develop an original point of view, alternative to the mainstream imposed by the ruling power. As the son of the proletariat and endowed with deep empathy, he naturally sided with the weakest members of society. His radical thinking is based on a kind of new humanism, fueled by anti-capitalism, Marxism, an in-depth and daily study of economics, and a mystical streak. His writings, clear and concise, are accessible even to those without specific knowledge of the topics covered.
With this new book, the author presents himself to the public with an autobiographical work, a small and precious philosophical compendium. Through it, the reader can relive otherwise forgotten historical moments: the events of his family offer an authentic portrait of the city of Crotone, narrated without filters. In an age when ‘plastic’ books abound, often produced solely to feed "megalomania" or commercial ends, this work represents something different, authentic, original. In short, we believe that this book, the first published by Panta Rei, deserves to be read, and we are certain that it will be beneficial to all who read it.
